On 20 April, at a meeting of the United Nations Economic and Social Council in New York, Lithuania was elected as a member of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) for the quadrennial period 2022–2025. In a group of Eastern European countries, four countries – Lithuania, Slovenia, Croatia and Russia – were candidates for the 3 vacant seats. Slovenia and Russia were also elected to the CND.

Multilateral Relations » European Union »On 30 March, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Mantas Adomėnas took part in the fifth Brussels Conference 'Supporting the future of Syria and the region' and voiced Lithuania’s support for refugees affected by conflict in Syria and for internally displaced persons. The conference took place in a virtual format. Lithuania's Foreign Vice-Minister also expressed Lithuania’s support for the United Nations Special Envoy for Syria Geir O. Pedersen and for a peaceful solution to the Syria conflict, in line with the UN Security Council Resolution 2254, as well as stressed the need to seek accountability for crimes committed in Syria.
