
On 20 June in Luxembourg, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis attended the Foreign Affairs Council, which focused on Russia’s war against Ukraine and its global impacts, as well as the EU’s further actions and response.

Lithuania has consistently advocated for a European perspective to be granted to the eastern partners that had expressed their wish to integrate with the European Union. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania welcomes the European Commission’s opinions on the applications of Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova for the EU membership status, which were submitted in record time. This is a historical step not only for our eastern partners, but also for the EU.

On 1 June in Tbilisi, Georgia, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Mantas Adomėnas met with the Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Head of the Georgia-Lithuania Friendship Group Maka Botchorishvili, and discussed Georgia’s integration into the European Union.

On 16 May, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis attended the Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels, Belgium, which focused on Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine, the EU's further assistance for Ukraine, the fight against the spread of false Russian narratives, and global implications of the Russian war.

Today, on 9 May, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Raimundas Karoblis congratulated the participants of the celebration on Europe Day, inviting them to celebrate the European unity, solidarity and close cooperation.

On 21 March in Brussels, Belgium, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis attended the Foreign Affairs Council meeting, which focused on the situation in Ukraine, the EU’s new set of measures to respond to Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine in coordination with like-minded partners, as well as the provision of military and humanitarian support for Ukraine.
In an extraordinary meeting on 16 March, the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe decided, in the context of the procedure launched under Article 8 of the Statute of the Council of Europe, to expel the Russian Federation from the Council of Europe as from today due to its military aggression against Ukraine.

On 16 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis attended a conference on the perspectives of Ukraine’s accession to the European Union. In his speech, Landsbergis voiced strong support for the Ukrainian people and highlighted the urgent need to grant Ukraine EU candidate status.

On 4 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis took part in the extraordinary Foreign Affairs Council. During the meeting, Foreign Ministers together with partners — NATO, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada — discussed further joint steps to de-escalate the situation, to provide the necessary support for Ukraine, and to ensure the protection of the civilian population.

On 4 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis will attend the extraordinary meeting of NATO Foreign Affairs Ministers with Finland, Sweden and the EU, which will be held in Brussels, Belgium, in response to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and a significant change in the European security situation.

On 27 February, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis remotely took part in an informal video conference of the European Union‘s foreign affairs ministers, who held a discussion on further measures to be adopted in response to Russia's military aggression against Ukraine. Ministers also discussed ways to strengthen Ukraine’s economic and military resilience, and how to tighten EU sanctions against Russia.
